The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF)
- Alaska International Airport System (AIAS) is seeking a qualified
team player to join our team and help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
We are looking for an Accounting Technician 2 who will be
responsible for reviewing and certifying accounts payable (A/P) and
receivable (A/R) transactions of three Accounting Technician 1
positions and will work under the direction of the Accounting
Supervisor in the AIAS Accounting Office for Anchorage
International Airport. Duties include performing accounting
functions adhering to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP), Alaska statutes and regulations, and Alaska International
Airport Systems policies, including reconciling a/p and a/r,
processing transactions in IRIS and ALDER, issuing invoices for
fees due to the airport, receiving and processing payments,
clearing daily suspense accounts, posting cash in the revenue
system, and researching and performing refunds and corrective
transactions. The selected candidate will also review lease
agreements for accurate billing, pull reports for audits and
analysis and serve as backup for the Accounting Supervisor
occasionally. Besides IRIS and ALDER, this position will work with
various accounting and office software applications, including, but
not limited to: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Edge,
Teams); airport revenue accounting system (Amadeus PROPworks);
JasperSoft based reports, and proprietary Airport Information
System (AIS).

contributed to the Anchorage and Fairbanks communities by the AIAS
is approximately $2 billion combined. This position is critical to
account properly, accurately, and timely for the millions of
dollars of AIAS revenue. In this role, you are essentially the
first responder who identifies then notifies others of data
inconsistencies or noncompliance with contract, state, and federal
requirements and works with others to resolve.

Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will
possess the following core competencies:
One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical
bookkeeping experience.
Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited
college will substitute for the required experience.
Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute
for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one
month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in
Accounting.
