Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We
primarily perform civil infrastructure projects including
earthmoving, dams, roadways, water resources, concrete paving, and
underground utilities. We are looking for hardworking individuals
with a passion for construction who aren't afraid to get their
hands dirty!Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain effective communications and relations
with district management, project management teams, and client
representatives as required.
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and supervise district and
project quality control personnel (including quality inspectors and
quality managers).
- Coordinate quality control staffing needs on projects and
assign qualified personnel.
- Assist project teams in the development of the Project Quality
Plan and participate in project start-up and job planning. Assist
in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's),
checklists, and other documentation for the project.
- Approve Project Quality Plans and quality risk
assessments.
- Monitor and report district quality incidents.
- Support projects with technical reviews and interpretation of
construction codes and standards.
- Maintain, update, and distribute district quality
documents.
- Undertake training and maintain certifications as
required.Qualifications
- Candidates should possess excellent oral and written
communication skills, have the ability to work independently and as
part of a team, possess excellent analytical and problem-solving
skills, be proficient with engineering and project management
software, and have excellent organizational and time management
skills.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or similar
scientific or technical discipline and 5+ years of related quality
management experience, performing functions as outlined above, or
an associate's degree and 10 years of related quality management
experience.
- Prior quality management or testing and inspection experience
with state DOTs, US armed forces, or other federal, state, or local
agencies may be given special consideration.
- Will also consider candidates with demonstrated strong
construction operations background combined with relevant
education.
- Preferred certifications - CCQM, ASQ, CQE, USACE CQM, ACI,
WAQTC, ASCE AWS, CWB, API, ACI.Other Requirements:
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with
supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team
environment.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral
and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use,
and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete
work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as
required.
- May work at various different locations and conditions may
