The following are the duties of this position at the full working
level:
- The work of this position requires ensuring the integration of
IT programs and services; developing solutions to
integration/interoperability issues; designing, developing, and
managing IT security systems that meet current and future business
requirements, and apply or extend, enhance, or optimize the
existing architecture; managing assigned projects; communicating
complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel; and
preparing and presenting briefings to senior management officials
on complex/controversial issues. Such work assignments include
leading IT development projects in software analysis, design,
development, and implementation for a new system or major
enhancement to an existing system.
- Identifying resource requirements and assigning tasks to
project members, reporting progress, and ensuring customer and
management involvement throughout the software development
process.
- Resolving critical issues affecting the configuration of the IT
infrastructure and coordinating the demonstration of new and
enhanced applications to customers and management. Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Telework Eligible Positions: Telework eligible positions do not
guarantee telework. Employees must meet and sustain IRS telework
eligibility requirements (e.g., reporting at least twice a pay
period to your assigned Post of Duty (POD)) and supervisor's
approval to participate in the IRS Telework Program. Employees must
also be within a 200-mile radius of their official assigned
post-of-duty (POD) while in a telework status. As a reminder - If
you are selected for a position, you are responsible for reporting
to your designated POD (location) on the negotiated start date or
as directed by management.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S.
Citizenship. Qualifications Federal experience is not required. The
experience may have been gained in the public sector, private
sector or one year of experience refers to full-time work;
part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full
credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of
employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per
week, on your resume. You must meet the following requirements by
the time of referral: BASIC REQUIREMENTS Experience must include
Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates
each of the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2)
Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication and 4) Problem Solving.
GS-7 LEVEL: To be eligible for this position at this grade level,
you must meet one of the following requirements: SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience at a
level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade
level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this
position must have been in an IT field or work where the primary
concern was the subject matter of the IT application. OR EDUCATION:
1 full academic year of graduate education at an accredited college
or university in computer science, engineering, information
science, information systems management, mathematics, operations
research, statistics or technology management OR 1 full academic
year of graduate education in one or more of the fields identified
above that required the development or adaption of applications,
systems or networks. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: At
least 1 year of combined graduate education and experience as
defined in paragraphs above. Education For positions with an
education requirement, or if you are qualifying for this position
by substituting education or training for experience, submit a copy
of your transcripts or equivalent. An official transcript will be
required if you are selected. A college or university degree
generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or
university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Required
